			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hasn&#8217;t been much action going on this last week. When I hit up the chiropractor last Monday, he informed me that I should not have the part time job that I do and wrote me out of work for the week and told me not to work out either. I did start to feel a bit better, but classes started this week as well and my back did not enjoy sitting for 2 1/2 hours straight. I relaxed over the weekend and I may attempt a work out Wednesday, depending on how I feel after working all day and class all night tomorrow. Ive lost weight before and I know the only way I can be successful again is if I incorporate a regular workout/gym routine  . . . 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So the last few days Ive been hurting!! I dont think working out after being adjusted and stretched by the chiropractor is such a good idea! I was hurting on Monday night, hurt when I woke up the next morning, then I had to work and I hurt even more when I got home. Wednesday comes and I am still sore, just when I start to feel better on Thursday, I have to work Thursday night and I woke up this morning stiff as a board. Seeing how I have to work tonight, I am not going to attempt a workout before hand because I could hardly get through work when I did that last week! So&#8230;.not a very active week for me. Hoping Ill be able to do something this weekend!! I had a horrendus eating day on Wednesday (BBQ&#8217;s will always do it)!!! Ive been doing well since, so hopefully it wont cause too much damage before the weekend! Yesterday was a beautiful day&#8230;.its starting to feel like fall, even though it just started to feel like summer 2 weeks ago! I am happy to not be sweating my butt off just by sitting though! :p</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So I did pretty good this past week. . . I worked out a few times and I even hit up the gym and worked out on the eliptical. I did have a sore back on Friday night because I made the mistake of going to the gym right before having to work on my feet for 5+ hours. The offical number after a week is down 3lbs. Im pretty happy about that, I hope it continues!!!<br />
I did have some issues all last week though with some tingling and numbness in my right foot and hand. Im not sure if it was from working out or because since I am currently on summer break I am laying around reading more often and my back isnt liking the positions I am laying/sitting in. I had an appt today with my chiropractor and he doesnt like what he heard about the numbness, but he did encourage me to continue the light work outs since it isnt really bothering me while I am working out. So I am happy to hear that I can continue to work out and that it can no longer be an excuse for me. He did make a point in mentioning how running and the impact of my feet on the ground would be no good for my back. <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif' alt=':(' class='wp-smiley' />  So I guess at this point any hopes of wanting to try to do a half marathon is completely out of the question. Maybe after I have surgery . . . whenever that will happen. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So I tried a lil mini workout this morning! My chiropractor told me not to go all gung ho with it (which is what I usually do). I stuck with some speed walking with weights in hand! I was very impressed that I was able to continue after 15 mins. Last time I attempted something my right foot was getting tingly and numb about 10 minutes in. I tried to stay on flat ground, which is what was recommended to me, but at the end I walked up a few hills that are on my road! A girls gatta find some way to loose some of her butt!!! <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_surprised.gif' alt=':o' class='wp-smiley' /> P After 25 min and the completion of the hills I started to feel the numbness in the feet, so I stopped! So . . . maybe it&#8217;s getting a little better?!? Or maybe its cuz I havent worked in a few days &#8211; not lifting children or heavy cases of water, sure makes a difference!!!! <img src='http://s1.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_surprised.gif' alt=':o' class='wp-smiley' /> )</p>
<p>So I was bad and weighed myself after one day. Down a few pounds, but I am sure its mainly because I was sweating constantly yesterday and also because I literally drank 2 gallons of water. There probably wont be much of a difference by the end of the week, but as long as I dont gain &#8211; Im  happy!!!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just recently finished up a therapeutic reading and writing course on-line and it motivated me to start writing in a journal again, or in this case an on-line blog. Then this morning I saw an article on Health.com about the success of blogging with weight loss.<a href="http://diet.health.com/2009/08/05/blog-it-off/"></a> Everything I learned from my course came back to me and how writing about ones feelings and frustrations is good for ones mental health. So I decided I am going to kill two birds with one stone and have it help my mental and physical health as well.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s backtrack three years ago . . .  it was my 25th birthday and I decided I needed to get on track with my weight and started Weight Watchers. It was very successful for me at the time, I lost 30lbs, got into running again, even did a few 5k races and fell in love with the man of my dreams! Then I somehow got off track . . . I moved in with the man of my dreams, went back to work in a restaurant and lacked a chiropractor for a few weeks. Working on ones feet ALL day and not having a chiropractor = me not working out or exercising anymore due to me being exhausted and the constant pain in my lower back. That was just the beginning and to make a long story short, it is now 3 years later and all the weight has all come back with a few extra pounds. With me getting older, I am starting to notice different changes in my body as well. One being,  fat is starting to appear in places it never has before!! And I used to laugh at the older women who told me that one day it would happen! It has now happened and I am not laughing anymore . . . instead I am crying inside and my self esteem is getting lower and lower every day. I am not happy with the way I feel, look or how my clothes fit &#8211; or don&#8217;t fit, these days.</p>
<p>I now have another roadblock in my life, which I have been using as an excuse lately and I am hoping I can get over that. I have a condition in my spine.  It&#8217;s called spondylolisthesis. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spondylolisthesis">I found out back in 2003 that I had this condition. The extremely sad and sick thing is that I went to a primary doctor to get a referral to go to a chiropractor he flat out told me that my back was strained, I needed to do yoga and that I had to loose weight. If the freaking idiot took an x-ray he would have seen that I have a bone that is displaced. I am now on chiropractor number 3 and the news isn&#8217;t too hot right now. My first visit to him I actually got a full overview and description as to what was wrong with me. (Which I never had before) He believes I was born this way . . . the 5th lumbar of my spine is not attached to my tailbone, which causes the pain in my back and why running, heavy walking or lifting can become painful for me and cause my feet to go numb &#8211; super awesome, huh? Up til a few months ago I was hitting a gym regularly and could run 3+ miles no problem, but then gradually I noticed the pain in my back and numbness in my feet after only running 3, then 2.5, then 2 miles and so on. On a scale of 4 my condition is currently bordering a Stage 3/Stage 4 status right now, which isn&#8217;t too good, especially since I am so young. At my last visit I found out that if  I don&#8217;t show improvement within the next month, I will then be referred to a neurologist and the word spinal fusion was mentioned. Just what a full time graduate student/part time-minimum wage earner wants to hear right now!!! So. . . yes this has caused me to not be as active and even if I attempt Im in pain about 15 minutes later. I would really like to find some exercise that works for me. Right now with it being summer, the pool has been good, however in about a month that wont be an option anymore.</a></p>
<p> I think that is about enough of the explaining and excuses for now! Day one of the blog can now be complete. For now with this heat and humidity I am about to go enjoy the pool and attempt to scrounge up a healthy lunch!</p>
